Nevada Gaming Commission have proposed new gaming regulations, which has in turn opened the gambling door to the United States of America.
This has come in the shape of a new opinion from the Justice Department, who has decided to allow a few types of online gambling operations to run. Lotteries and other gambling interests will run these exact operations in the United States.
The decision went public only a day after Nevada regulators had voted to adopt the first ever state regulations concerning online poker.
This news means that various companies are allowed to operate poker sites within the Nevada region.
The US online poker market is currently estimated at $5 billion in revenue, which is in fact quite small in comparison to the current global Internet gaming market of $24 billion.
Prior to this recent decision, the Nevada Gaming Commission universally approved a number of suggested regulations. These regulations will permit various companies to apply for licenses that will allow them to provide services for online poker in the Western state.
The commercialization of poker certainly seems to be growing vastly, which is possibly why the above notion has been passed.
Six companies have in fact already applied for this license. These include Cantor Gaming, Shuffle Master Incorporated, International Game Technology, Bally Technologies Incorporated, Caesars Entertainment Corporation and the South Point Hotel Casino.
Officials certainly believe that allowing these licenses will add to the gaming industry in Nevada, thus making more capital.
These licenses will also lead to advances in technology and gaming in the Western state.
Only 90 minutes were spent discussing this notion and public opinions were also considered in the final decision to allow it to pass.
With licenses now being agreed in the state, online poker betting is only set to get bigger and bigger!
